Aim of Project:
The project aims at developing DIY repair and recovery skills among young people. Additionally, it aims at increasing the lifetime of products and sustainable consumption. At the same time, the project will teach young people the basics of entrepreneurship. DIYFuture includes a combination of e-lectures, DIY projects (manual work) and learning entrepreneurship through a case study of self-made products. The project aims to empower young people to start their own DIY projects or start their own sustainable businesses.
Activities:
The project will include the following activities:
- national online surveys
- focus groups with DIY workshops
- combined status report
- text-based e-learning on entrepreneurship and video lessons on repairing, upgrading, recycling
- national trainings/workshops, staff training
- youth trainings in Maribor and Corsica
- final international conference
Expected Results:
The project will improve young people’s manual skills and their ability to repair, recycle and upgrade products, as well as their entrepreneurial skills. The project will increase sustainability in our society. The synergy between DIY skills and entrepreneurship will empower young people to develop their own products and businesses, with the long-term result of increasing the number of businesses in the EU, greater resource efficiency and longer product lifetimes.
