Another successful mobility of school staff from the National Vocational School of Forestry and Hunting “Hristo Botev” – Velingrad, implemented under the Erasmus+ program with project number 2025-1-BG01-KA121-VET-000312694.
Nine teachers of forestry and hunting subjects took part in Erasmus+ mobility from 2nd to 8th November 2025 with our partners at the Mednarodni institut za Implementacijo Trajnostnega razvoja in Maribor, Slovenia. The participants had the opportunity to learn about the most innovative teaching models and good pedagogical standards widely used in the Slovenian education system.
This was made possible through visits to the Secondary School of Woodworking and Forestry in Maribor. The group also visited the Pivola Botanical Garden at the University of Maribor, where they were able to exchange experiences with specialists in the field and other teachers regarding the interests and needs of students after completing secondary education and their motivation for professional realisation.
The teachers held a discussion with MIITR on sustainable development as a way of thinking among young people and what good practices in terms of infrastructure can be applied. The group had a field observation and discussion with the city landscape architect of Maribor, through which they saw the new trends in urban greening and the plant species used for this purpose.
In addition to learning about proven mechanisms and practices in a professional context, the teachers also had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Slovenian culture! The group visited the oldest city in Slovenia and one of the oldest in Europe – Ptuj, tasted the region’s characteristic wine and traditional cuisine, and enjoyed the magnificent nature.
